Introducing “Management of Risk and Uncertainty in the Health Sector” The ability to identify and manage significant risks is an essential management skill in the NHS. Risk awareness is recognised as an esssential leadership skill and a key element in effective governance. However few personnel in leadership roles have had specific training, and many lack real confidence in this area. “Management of Risk and Uncertainty (MORU) in the Health Sector” addresses this skills need for Board members and senior managers. The course explores the processes and techniques for the successful identification and assessment of risk, how to embed a culture of risk management, within the context of the national codes and standards covering governance, reporting and monitoring. Accredited by the Institute of Risk Management, this course leads to a recognised certificate as evidence of competence in Risk Awareness. The course is available as a public event at the King’s Fund in central London or as an in-house course on your own premises.
