Introducing ParkHill’s Counter Fraud Service

Estimates suggest fraud costs the NHS up to £2bn a year. NHS expenditure is vulnerable to fraud in a number of different guises, such as prescription fraud by patients wrongly claiming free medicines, and NHS staff fraudulently submitting false payment forms for their work.

Tackling fraud and corruption in NHS spending is a key Government priority. Greater numbers of cases of NHS fraud are being investigated than ever before. Over the last 7 years, counter fraud activity in the NHS has freed up £811 million to be spent on patient care and improved services. In line with this strategy, all NHS organisations are expected to have robust anti-fraud measures in place, including establishing a zero-tolerance culture, together with sound governance and control arrangements.
